Christchurch Earthquakes

This week we have been looking at disasters all around New Zealand, we were allowed to choose where and what we wanted to research. I decided to research the Christchurch earthquakes because I was very interested in seeing all the broken buildings. Sadly, 185 people lost their lives and over 2000 were horribly injured. Here are some facts and photos from the 6.3 magnitude earthquake in 2010.

gingerbread men

This week me and a group of others have been making gingerbread men to take around to the Granger house, The Granger house is a place where old people who need the most help live. The reason why we made gingerbread men were because in class we have been doing 20% day. 20% day is where we do 80% of our work up until Thursday and get to make something special for others. Another reason was because it is nearly Christmas and we wanted to spread the Christmas joy.

Here are some of the cookies we got inspiration from:

prEP 2020

For the past 2 weeks, the whole school has been doing prEP. For prEP I chose to be in a group with Ryah, Martin and Hannah to sell products. As a group we came up with the idea of making stickers and mystery envelopes. We made a big amount of stickers which sold really well at big market, along with the lucky dips. The lucky dips had Christmas marshmallows in then and a few mini candy canes. Here are some of the photos of our stickers:

Climate Change

This week we have been set a task for our literacy all around climate change. We had a few tasks to complete, the main one was having to create a google slide for different categories around Climate Change. The categories were 'how it's affecting the world, what we can do to stop it from going further, what we are doing which is causing climate change and my personal thoughts/opinion on Climate Change.' The main question was "Is Climate Change really a problem or are we making it a big deal than what it actually is?" Down below is my google slide. What do you think about Climate Change?
