Technology - Bailee 2019

On Wednesday all the Year seven and eights went to the high school for Tech.

Last week my class made bath bombs and started making our aprons.

When we all went to our classes my class grabbed all of the bath bombs we made and took them out of their moulds. 

There was lots of decorations to wrap the bath bombs up so we can give them to people as gifts.

I wrapped mine up with clear foils and curled string.

I decided to give mine to my mum and the other one to my sister.

I really liked making the bath bombs and I can't wait to make them again next week.

Film Festival - 2019

Yesterday my whole school went to a Film Festival, it took place at the Regent Theatre.

 We watched lots of movies/films made by other schools all around Grey Mouth and the West Coast. 

I wrote some reviews on what I liked and what they could of improved on.

Limerick

  This week my class and I decided to write a Limerick, some  

 people wrote more than 1 but i decided just to do this one.

Do you write Limericks at your school? Here is some examples of a limerick and what rules you need for it to actually be a limerick.

Tech Term 4.

This week my class and the rest of Totara hub walked down to the High School for technology, my tech class is called 'Gifts from the kitchen'

My class made chocolate fudge and lime jelly, next week we are going to make bath bombs and work on our painted cans for some plants to go inside.

Keeping Ourselves Safe.

This term we have been looking at Keeping Ourselves Safe (KOS) Firstly we listened to a story and listed what we could do in the situation , Constable Terri came into our school and talked to us about it . She also talked about the type of abuse there are. Some of them is : 

: Physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect abuse, sexual abuse, family abuse,  cyber abuse.

We watched a video about this kid that always got bullied, he thought he had lots of friends but they decided to bully him cyber and emotional.

Yesterday 7//11//19 Constable Terri came and read us another story about sexual abuse and physical abuse.

Shake Out

Shake Out. 

Thursday 17/10/19 , Yesterday afternoon my school and I did a shake out.

What happened was : The intercom went off saying it was an earthquake drill, everyone scurried underneath a sturdy table, we went into a turtle position and held our head.
Once we got told that we were allowed to get out from underneath the tables we got an evacuation call.
If you don't know what an evacuation call is, it means you have to hurry out of the building as soon as possible.

Once the whole school was out of the classes they all hurried out of the gates and ran up the hill.
When we are all up the hill Mrs O and Mrs Drake talked to us about what we would have to do if this was a real tsunami and earthquake.

They both finished talking so we were allowed to go down the hill.. We walked back to our classrooms and talked about what we could of improved on.

Strawberry fruit Smoothie instructions.

This week in my class we have been working on doing instructions on your favourite smoothie.
I found this activity a bit hard but easy at the same time because I don't usually drink smoothies.
The part that made this activity easy was : I was allowed to search up smoothie recipes and changed some of the words to my own.
I chose to do instructions on a 'Strawberry' smoothie because I really like strawberries and they are a nice and fresh fruit to have.
